*cough, cough*
WALL E is the best pixar animation EVA
I am going to do a review. It will be very VERY boring. Skip or die of Boredom. Only I can take my own rambling.
Wall E (calling it WE from now on) is the BEST pixar movie. Why? In a *short* concise statement, it is able to capture the attention of masses through the themes of love, courage, the environment yet upon deeper reflection allow us to ponder upon the theme that is core to human society - the human condition.
The human condition, hard to explain yet evidently changing in our everyday lifes, is the true core of the movie. WE himself has developed a human personality, and what does he do with it? He practically saves the humans themselves from eternal devolution. In the Axiom, The human being has lost it's human sense and touch and spirit, and it is so ironic that the human spirit is restored by a robot, who is able to love and care. It really leaves you to think whether we really will become like that, and in a sense its like 1984(by George Orwell). It is of course put in a more happy and light setting but the basics of the theme of human devolution stay the same, that humans have lost their sense of curiosity and free thought , some even their instincts, yet the rediscovering of it is what makes this movie great. (In 1984 the human spirit devolves eternally but whateva)
After pondering, you notice that the movie is not only deep and complex, yet it appeals to what humans need the most. Love. Always proclaimed but never meant. This movie achieves something so immensely simple that touches the depth of our hearts. It shows love, and it shows that love can occur through any form or channel, and it is cliche, but the WE and EVA love is simply touching. Also, who will forget the scenes where WE touches into his HUMAN curiosity and plays around with the fire extinguisher, cube and the bra, eh? Also, the scene where the captain stands up. Triumphant and hilarious, a well crafted, well thought, and well meant dramedy, which is also deep and meaningful.
There, I'm done. Now on to the checklist.
Lets see....
AH
Teachers day I went our with P6/12 to watch Wall-E. Got to see many old classamates again.
Nothing has changed. Nothing. A few voice breaks, a few inches of growth. But nothing. Everyones persona is still the same. Yu Jian with his lame jokes, eddy foo with his posiness(hold on thats a little different but whateva), me with my craziness, tabs with her cooking, clar with her.....Oh you get the point. Wall was great even though i already watched it i loved it so much i had to watch it again. Truth or dare was lame. NOthing compared to what is done in 2P but a few awkward things were said.
